Quality management system (IATF16949)
IATF16949 is a comprehensive quality management system that integrates automotive standards based on the Quality Management System ISO9001. We have prepared manuals that conform to IATF16949 requirements in order to prevent malfunctions caused by activities and to continuously improve the supply chain.
IATF16949 operation management system
We have organized an IATF16949 operation control system with the president as the chief officer. The Quality Assurance Department has become the quality assurance manager, and by implementing continuous improvements, we have created an organization that can maintain global quality.
Specific Initiatives
The Uchiyama Group focuses on QC circle activities to improve product qualities. The team finds and discusses issues, and carries out everything from the implementation of improvement measures to the measurement of effects. Through proactive QC circle activities, we are improving our abilities to think, learn, and act on our own, with the aim of creating a vigorous workplace.
As a result of our quality assurance activities, we have given in-house awards to our sites that received zero complaints throughout the year. We have introduced a system that improves employee motivation and leads to further quality improvements.
Example of award
Uchiyama Industries was given the top SSC (Supplier Score Card in fiscal 2021 by Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. for its high-quality appreciation. We achieved our targets for market quality, delivery quality, and countermeasures against defects, and received this evaluation.
