	In Uchiyama's product development, a severe test is repeated from the stage of raw material on concerning various requirements. And myriad gasket/ seal materials are being developed which can endure longtime, harsh conditions in an effort to respond to car market needs that continue to require noiseless, high output capacity, low combustion cost performance, and cost reduction. The theme tackled consistently in development is 'leakage.' Uchiyama uses to the full its own advanced technical strength to shut off the leakage of heat, liquid, gas, etc. , thus continuing to challenge quality product building.

Checks are made on surface smoothness required of gaskets and seals.

This instrument is for measuring circularity required of the seal materials of rotary parts like bearings.

Full use is made of a computer so as to design the optimum shape in
consideration of the balance between the location used and the characteristics of material.

The gasket etc. for use in car engines are forced to deteriorate due to vibration fatigue over time. This tester is for simulating vibration fatigue under a presumption of longtime service, thus evaluating the material that can
endure design conditions.

Evaluation is made at a micro visual field in order to prevent in advance
a nonconformity caused by a small defective.

A test can be made under every temperature and humidity so that a constant quality may be supplied under all environments in which cars travel.

The gaskets/ seals, which serve as engine parts, are subjected to tests
under varied temperature conditions not to change their quality due to oil immersion.
